We last inspected the service in October 2015 and rated the service as ‘Good.’ At this inspection we found the service remained ‘Good’ and met all the fundamental standards we inspected against. CQC regulates both the premises and the care provided, and both were looked at during this inspection. We also offer a hair and beauty salon, library facilities and a full laundry service, as well as daily activities run by our fully trained staff. We have sixty two ensuite bedrooms, which can be personalised to suit your taste, as well as six comfortable and homely lounges. Our lounges can accommodate all of our residents’ daily requirements and include facilities such as 50” plasma televisions, quiet lounges and sensory lounges. Lindisfarne Care Home provides accommodation and personal or nursing care for up to 61 older people. The home is set in its own gardens in a residential area near to public transport routes and local facilities.
Inspection ratings
However, some mental capacity assessments were blank or were not decision specific. Some of the consent to care and treatment records were not signed by people or their representatives. There were sufficient numbers of staff on duty in order to meet the needs of people who used the service. The provider had an effective recruitment and selection procedure in place and carried out relevant vetting checks when they employed staff. Staff were suitably trained and received regular supervisions and appraisals. Lindisfarne Newton Aycliffe’s dining facilities offer varied menus of nutritious, home-cooked food prepared on-site, which relatives are welcome to share with residents.
Person-centred is about ensuring the person is at the centre of any care or support plans and their individual wishes, needs and choices are taken into account. Care records contained evidence of people being supported during visits to and from external health care specialists. Hallgarth Care Home
We provide general residential care, accommodation and personal or nursing care for up to 61 older people. People who used the service, family members and staff were regularly consulted about the quality of the service via meetings and surveys. – there are some services which we can’t rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider.

Related Care Homes
All food is cooked by a team of chefs who take into account all dietary requirements and requests. The provider had an effective complaints procedure in place and people who used the service and family members were aware of how to make a complaint. Care records showed that people’s needs were assessed before they started using the service and care plans were written in a person-centred way.
Lindisfarne Ouston offers a wide range of individual and group activities both on and off-site, ensuring that residents can continue with hobbies and interests, as well as providing new experiences. The home has its own minibus, perfect for day trips organised by our fully trained staff. Served in the communal conservatory dining area, overlooking the garden and patio, are nutritious, home-cooked meals, all of which are prepared with residents’ dietary requirements in mind. The home also boasts many specialists to ensure that all residents are fully looked after.

Brandon Lodge Care Home Commercial Street, Brandon, Durham, DH7 8PH ★★★☆ Brandon Lodge Care Home is located in Brandon Village just outside of Durham. The home has good transport links into the centre of Durham for residents who wish to take in the local culture. Brandon Lodge is a modern, two-storey home with light and airy spaces throughout. All communal areas inside the home are fitted with motion activated lighting systems for ease and safety. Organised across three floors, this home has spacious living accommodation comprising of several smaller lounges and dining areas.
Like all our Care Homes, Lindisfarne Newton Hall is decorated throughout to the highest standard. Each of the 61 bedrooms are large and well-equipped and all come with ensuite facilities and plasma televisions to allow personal time if required. This inspection took place on 6 and 7 December 2017 and was unannounced. This meant the staff and provider did not know we would be visiting.Lindisfarne Care Home is a ‘care home’. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement.
If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service. We reviewed the information and data available to us about Lindisfarne Care Home on 8 December 2022. We have not found evidence that we need to reassess the rating at this stage. Lindisfarne Newton Hall is a purpose-built care home located on the outskirts of picturesque Durham City Centre and is the latest addition to our extensive group. Activities were arranged for people who used the service based on their likes and interests and to help meet their social needs.
The home consists of 57 ensuite rooms as well as several comfortable and homely living areas. Lindisfarne Ouston has two lounge areas – both of which overlook Penshaw Monument – and a fully equipped sensory lounge.
It also has large gardens including a sensory garden to allow guests to enjoy the outdoor space. – the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service. Lindisfarne Throckley also offers general nursing and residential care.
Care plans were in place that recorded people’s plans and wishes for their end of life care. Staff treated people with dignity and respect and helped to maintain people’s independence by encouraging them to care for themselves where possible. People who used the service and family members were complimentary about the standard of care at Lindisfarne Care Home.
Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon. Lindisfarne Care Home provides specialist accommodation for the care of individuals with Dementia. With 53 bedrooms located across two floors, a choice of lounges and dining rooms, full wheelchair access and a large conservatory, residents will feel instantly at home. We are a purpose-built care home who specialise in general nursing and residential care, along with specialist care for those suffering from Dementia. Newton Hall has all of the modern facilities you’d expect from a care home, including plasma televisions in all bedrooms and lounges, a beauty salon and dining rooms.
